Event: Christmas Cheer With Jet2

Last week I was lucky enough to attend the Jet2’s Christmas Event in Leeds! This was my first blogger event in ages – the first proper one I’ve been to since the pandemic hit. It was such a great event with fun activities, plus the chance to learn more about Jet2’s winter breaks!

The event was at Headrow House in Leeds, which was a fantastic venue with loads of space for our group of about 20 bloggers. I managed to squeeze in time to snap a few quick pics of Leeds all decorated for Christmas on my way from the train station.

After a brief introduction from Emma at Jet2, we divided up into two groups to start our activities. The first one for me was a calligraphy/brush lettering (shortened) workshop with Phylecia Sutherland. Turns out she is actually American as well, and it was so fun chatting to someone about all those little things we miss about the US! Calligraphy is definitely not my calling in life, to say the least, but it was fun to learn about it and even create designs on our own baubles.

An espresso martini with a backdrop of a Christmas tree.

Next up was a cocktail masterclass! I made an espresso martini, which was actually really good! I don’t like coffee but the other option was a margarita, so since I don’t drink tequila (anymore, haha) an espresso martini it was. We all had a load of fun making our own drinks and trying to get that perfect foam on top of the drink.

We were treated to an excellent lunch – I loved the barbecue meats, but the garlic potatoes definitely stole the show. A few of the group were vegetarian/vegan and they managed to sort options out for them too.

Beakers, sticks, and oils for candlemaking.

After lunch, we got to make our own candles thanks to a workshop with Golden Hour Co! This was so fun, testing different scents to see what we liked, and mixing our own oils to pour our own perfect candle. After we named our individual candles, we let them settle.

A Christmas tree in Victoria Arcade in Leeds, England.

Jet2 is a budget airline based out of Leeds-Bradford Airport – I’ve flown with them many times, and I’ve flown through LBA a fair few times in the last five years of living here. In my experience, the border agents at LBA are actually some of the friendliest I’ve encountered in the UK! LBA is the nearest airport to where I live in York so it’s very convenient for flights within Europe. My best friend has flown through LBA so many times (visiting me!) he has a designated favorite bench there.

Jet2 offers so many options for travelers: package holidays, ski breaks, and Christmas market city breaks to name a few. You can find out more information on their website! As we (hopefully) continue to get back to traveling, it’s exciting to start planning trips again. For me, now that I have ILR and I’m a permanent resident here – meaning I’m able to leave/re-enter the UK freely again – I’m really looking forward to getting away for some trips in the upcoming year!

Overall, this was such a fun event – and such a great first blogger event after the start of the pandemic. I’m definitely looking forward to more events and the return of travel!

I was invited to this event by Jet2, but all opinions and photos are my own!
